Coming Soon! Trevor the Turtle!

My nephew Blayne is turning 1 this month and I wanted to send him something special. Ive had this idea of this turtle swimming in my head for a while now and then last night my mom gave me a big bag containing my Dad's old Ties. Perfect!! A little recycled fleece blanket and grandpa's Ties and Trevor the Turtle came to life. I love how he turned out! I hope Blayne does too!

The Bijou Market

I could not have asked for a better salesman!!

I decided I needed more things than just kid's stuff, so, I whipped up some recycled sweater reversible fingerless gloves. Super warm and comfy.

The snakes were a big hit with the kid's! They kept walking off with them and their mom's had to bring them back. Although 2 mom's gave in!

The selection of Boots.

I participated in my first large scale local market. The day was great! There was tons of traffic and I got alot of great response and orders. Thanks to my best friend Tally for keeping me company and being my slave labor. I dont know what I would have done without her!
I actually got invited to do 5 different shows!

My 15 minutes of fame!!

Give Away!!!

Im doing a give away! That's right. Heather Mildenstein from the http://www.thecoterieblog.com/
is doing a feature of Peek a Boo Monkey. Not only does she have a great blog, but she's also a brilliant photographer and has a cute etsy store too. www.kantandesigns.etsy.com. Im really excited and am so thankful for her kindness!

Recycled Rattlesnakes

Watch your Step!

Ive been making these guys for my family and friends for a little while now so I decided to offer it as a PDF tutorial. They are easy and fun to do and a great way to use those old unwanted Ties. What makes them even more special is their tails even rattle.

Monkeying Around

Here's a project in the works. I recently made my son some barrel of monkeys for his wall in his room, which then got me working on this. Just trying to finalize the shape and pattern & then Ill offer it as a pdf pattern. What do you think? These are just the prototypes, but they are made from recycled T-shirts!

The inspiration monkeying around on the cat's new bed.

Barbie went on Safari and came back with this wonderful eco-friendly Zebra Rug. How eco-conscience of her!

A little Tweed Preview

Im so excited about some of the great Tweeds in the works that I had to post a picture. I only cut out 342 pattern pieces last night. Now I just need the Shoes Elves to finish them up!

(really bad lighting in my sewing room!)

Now I just need to cut more sweater booties!
I really need scissors that dont callouse my fingers!
